Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Filling

  1. Season the Steak and Shrimp: In a bowl, combine the sliced steak and shrimp. Add olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss well to coat.
  2. Cook the Steak and Shrimp: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned steak and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly browned. Add the shrimp and cook for another 2-3 minutes until pink and cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add a little more oil if needed. Sauté the onions and bell peppers until they’re soft and lightly browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Return the steak and shrimp to the skillet, add the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, and stir until melted. Set the filling aside.

Step 2: Prepare the Bread

  1. Prepare the Loaf: Cut the baguette or Italian loaf in half lengthwise, creating a top and bottom piece.
  2. Scoop Out the Bread: Remove some of the interior bread from each half, creating space for the filling. Be careful not to go too deep, as you want the loaf to hold its shape.
  3. Make the Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Brush this mixture over the hollowed-out parts of the bread.

Step 3: Stuff the Bread and Bake

  1. Fill the Bread: Spoon the steak, shrimp, and cheese mixture into the hollowed-out bread halves, pressing it down gently to ensure an even layer of filling.
  2. Reassemble the Bread: Place the top half of the loaf back on and wrap the stuffed loaf in foil.
  3. Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the wrapped loaf for 15-20 minutes until heated through and the cheese is melted.
  4. Unwrap and Broil: After baking, unwrap the foil and place the bread under the broiler for 2-3 minutes until the top is golden and crispy.
